The past two summers were filled with graduate work. I feel like. . . well, I find that I actually have a little free time this summer. :) I'm determined to get those 'summer projects' (ya know, all of those things that I've put off the past two school years) done. So, the first week I worked very hard to get my office organized and usable. I can't tell you how happy I am to have my workspace at home cleaned up and comfortable! I love it! There is still a little work to do, but I'm almost there.
And, of course, I'm already working on units and plans for next year. ;) Come on, you knew I was! Mom and I spent last Sunday afternoon out shopping for supplies to make new name tags, cubby tags, and more. The kids loved the Owl Theme I had last year and some of them asked me to keep it. I'm creating a whole new way to use the owls - let's just say its a classroom theme that is Owls meets Tree House meets Chevron print. ;) Oh, I hope this turns out okay.
I have some awesome units planned - everything from Helen Keller to studying worms. Yes, that's right, I said worms. I have had a blast outlining (which is all I've had time to do just yet, the rest will come in a few weeks) new units to correlate to common core standards. This is when I get to sit in my NEW office and be creative!! I LOVE IT!
Mom and I took the Andy, Gracie, and Caroline ice skating last week. I know, strange - ice skating in summer, but they are not crowded and it was great exercise for them. They had a good time.
Krispy Kreme? PLEASE!!!
It's been nice to stop and enjoy things like a beautiful moon in the sky or breathtaking sun rays the past couple weeks.
Last week I went painting in Hendersonville and totally crashed a party! It was the sweetest group of nurses from Summit having a "team building" party. They were incredibly kind and treated me just like one of their group!
Yesterday, I went to a wedding. I dreaded going alone, so I called Daddy and said. . ."If I have to go to a wedding alone today, I need to at least have a little fun with it!" Yeap - it was a Mustang kinda day! Who said girls can't have a little fun with fast cars?!?!?!? ;)
Bring on the rest of my SUMMER!
