Sweet Treasures!

And. . .some days we are blessed with unexpected sweet treasures!  Last night I found this precious gift in the backseat of my car.  What a special treat to have a hand-made quilt from Mrs. Martin.  I am speechless!  Thank you so very much, Mrs. Martin.  I will treasure this forever!

Too cute not to share!

Every once in a while something will happen in my classroom that is just too cute not to share!  This time. . . well, you'll see! :)

Last week (yes, I've held this for a week - aren't you impressed?) Chris came to eat lunch with me at school.  The kids saw me sneak a hug before he left and the following happened when we returned to class.  Are you ready for this?

As soon as we were back in our classroom and the door shut behind us I heard, "Ms. Hall likes Mr. Chris!"  I just kind of ignored them thinking it would pass quickly.  WRONG!  By the time we were settled in our 'Reading Cafe' for read-aloud time, I could hear their whispers getting louder and louder.  Just then I heard, "Ms. Hall is getting married!"  I just grinned and acted like I didn't understand what they were talking about.  I was all ready to start reading when I heard a certain little girl (cough, cough - little Stephanie) say, "Ms. Hall is going to have a BABY!!!!!!!!!"  I jumped into the conversation and said, "I haven't said ANYTHING about getting married and I'm NOT having a baby!"  This same little girl replied, "Well, that's what my momma did.  She got married and had two babies!!"  I couldn't help but laugh a little and then told her, "Well, I am not having a baby!"  She very quickly responded with, "How do you know that?!?!?!?"    I told her, and the rest of the class, that rumors were going to get started and that  we needed to read our book.   She wouldn't let it go and asked me again how I knew I wasn't going to have a baby.  I said, "(Insert child's name here), I am too old to have babies!"

Now, I thought I had ended the whole conversation here, but after a little bit of thought another sweet student (cough, cough - Tiffany) blurted out, "Well, if you're too old to be having babies then you are going to RETIRE!!!!!"  With this, another student began to cry saying that wasn't true and that I would be with her until she was in the 12th grade.

Shew. . .the most chaotic 2 minutes of my entire teaching career!  I just wonder what they all went home and told their parents! :/  I'm thinking I shouldn't be hugging anymore!

A New Kind of Day

Andy is officially too big for Easter Egg hunts and the Easter Bunny must have lost our address this year (I've been a tad too busy to shop for things like that) but we had a great day - a new kind of day.  Of course, just like every other Sunday, we went to church this morning.  We were able to watch the little ones hunt eggs just before we headed off to lunch with Mom and Dad.

It was such a special treat to have this picture taken.  These two are precious! <3

It was such a beautiful day we decided to put the top down.  Uh. . .not such a great idea for my hair on Easter Sunday, but oh well! ;)

This afternoon I worked as Andy and Chris rode bikes.  It was all good until I heard Chris say. . ."I think I'll build a JUMP!"  WHAT?  It wasn't too bad. . . at least until I knew he was going easy on purpose.  He said I might not want to watch when he does the big jumps.  Haha!

It's a NEW KIND OF DAY for me and I couldn't be happier!

For this I did pray!

I keep looking at this picture and thinking of how blessed I am!  Wanna know the story?  Yeah, I thought you might! :)

All of you know the bad stuff so I will just skip right over that, okay?  Well, most of it anyway. Remember the blog post about "Something Beautiful"?  Here it is!  THIS is my something beautiful.

Here is the song again! :)

He took all of my broken pieces and started turning it into something beautiful.  Little did I know that he started working this miracle when I was in kindergarten.  Look at this:

Now, check this out. . .the little boy seated on the far right front row - he saved his Valentine from the little girl on the far left front row! Can you believe that?

Chris and I never had another class together!  I remember talking to him in the hallways at Junior High and High School, but we never were at the same parties or events that I can remember.  To me, he was this sweet little boy I had in my kindergarten class.  What I didn't know was that he had a crush on me for all those years. Seriously?  HE had a crush on ME?  I had NO IDEA!!!

As adults, we lived just down the road from each other.  For several years he has lived just three miles (or so) from my parents.  I've never ran into him.  Never passed him on the road, never bumped into him at the grocery store - nothing!

This past fall, he noticed me on Facebook and saw that I was going by my maiden name.  Well. . . the rest is pretty self explanatory.  :)  After months of prayer and conversation, here we are. . .

Chris is the kindest, sweetest, meekest, most amazing man I have ever known.  I prayed for a good man to come into my life - here he is!  I wonder what the future holds. <3
